no. They are too far behind too many teams. Historically, very few teams have been able to make up 7 game deficits, especially when they are counting on 4 teams to fall apart down the stretch in order to get there. The Yankees have the second easiest schedule the rest of the way.........BUT the Red Sox have the easiest. So, no they won't make it.....and good riddance!

It's hard to tell right now. Even though they are behind my team, they are in 4th place in the wild card, they still got a chance since the playoffs aren't mid September-October. But if they loose and end up back in 4th place in the AL standings before the playoffs, then it's over for them. Even though I'm a Red Sox fan, I do hope any team, including the Yankees make it to the playoffs. Every team in the AL and NL should be in the playoffs but only a few can.

Yep...Red Sox are fading right now losing a lot of 1-2 run ball games. Manny and Papi are starting to hit but can't generate runs and pitching does not look sharp. Lesser players carried the team early but are not hitting now...except Youklis...most underrated player in AL this year. Yankee pitching starting to gel. If Abreu and Cano keep it up may catch Red Sox in September. Red Sox saving grace may be heavy Devil Rays schedule but that is no gimme.

No they might not this year. Boston will win the division. And the wild card will have central teams and western teams who have better records than the Yankees. I'd say no.

Not likely. And even if they do, the eventual AL Central Champ Detroit Tigers will crush them in the playoffs just like last year.

very doubtful... the team in the running for the wild card right now will ALL have to start slumping, and the yankees will have to win 75%+ of the rest of their games

Trust me on this one... they won't. Yes they are already making a run on the division leading Redsox, but even to make the wild card they have to beat out Cleveland who is, in my opinion just as good as Detroit. There's also the mariners, who are several games behind the thundering angels. The wild card race in the AL will be close don't get me wrong, but unless SEA and CLE/DET slow down they won't be able to rebound from there first half start.

No. Eveyone asks this question everyday and everyday I give the same answer. If the Indians(leading WC)play .500 ball for the rest of the year the Yankees will have to play .700 ball. Same for the Red Sox.
