Any recommendations on what kind/type/brand of razor? Right now I use Silk Effects by Schick, it's leaving serious stubble behind.

Use an electric trimmer, it doesn't make it smooth but it's as short as it gets without any real pain. If you think you must have it smooth and completely gone, just remember it's going to hurt the next day! Make sure you trimmed it and just soak in warm water for a while. Then use some serious shaving cream and a good razor - and be VERY careful and don't press down too hard. Then pack some lotion on it, then some baby powder on the edges because your panties will irritate the heck out of it! If you keep doing it gradually it may get a lot easier, but it's not comfortable, really - not for most girls. Good luck!

Use an electric shaver. Don't use a razor. It won't be as close a shave, but you want a little hair to stick out of the skin or you'll get terrible ingrown hairs.

You can shave it with a razor, like you shave your legs and arm pits with. Just make sure you wait a week in between shaving because if you don't you'll get razor burn... and it's really not fun down there.

I really don't think it's necessary to shave your pubic area. It's natural. I think you must have a really could cause to shave your pubic area.

[Here's a secret: When I was about 10 I first found some pubic hair. I tried to shave it and after I did, I got red, burning bumps all over my pubic area. They hurt really bad so I never did it again.]
