I believe people worship pro players, because of strictly entertainment. They are fun to watch, live the high life and some are good role models. When I say some, I really mean very few are good role models. People worship pro players, because they are on your favorite team, wear your favorite number or even from your home town. When I worship a pro player I look at them as a person and what they give back to the community, but that is my preference. I do not worship the ones that get in trouble with the law, but some how get away with murder, because of their worship status and money. Micheal Vick is a perfect example, good athlete, given everything, but I assume he will some how get out of serving time.

because most have played the sport, usually with some degree of frustration, and are awed by the pro players ability and expertise. its something they themselves often fantasized doing, knowing the astronomical odds against them ever reaching that stage.

We don't, we just admire their skills. We worship the Lord.
