Hi, Weather Loaches are social fish so be sure to get more than one to keep them happy & provide a suitably sized tank-at least 20 gallon, lidded & filtered. Best to never touch your fish-they have a slime coating which is easily removed when handled leaving them vulnerable to many diseases & infections. 'Google' Weather Loach, there are many sites telling you about caring for them properly.

They are pretty cheap. They are actually a coldwater fish, Clown Loaches are tropical. Weather Loaches also stay less than 8 inches while Clown Loaches get over a foot long. The first poster it right, you don't want to rub off their slime coat.

You should never pet your fish. they have a protective slime on their bodies that you remove everytime you touch them. They dont cost much when I worked in a pet store I think it was like $2.00 for one.. make sure that you put enough food out for them because they can eat like crazy and they liked to jump out of the tanks where I worked too.
