Reading question as:-
x / (x - 5) = - 2x / x
x / (x - 5) = - 2
x = - 2 (x - 5)
x = - 2x + 10
3x = 10
x = 10 / 3

1. C; solve the numbers on the inside of the parenthesis first, then times that by three, then divide that by two. 2. B; the length must be 10 feet, there are two sides, so two lengths which means 20 feet total. Then there are two more sides. You have 29 feet and you have used 20 feet which means there is 9 feet of fence to cover two sides. Divide 9 by half and it's 4.5. 3. D; those pieces of wood in decimal form would be 2.75, 2.9, 2.8, and 2.6 4. A; 6.6x10^9 divided by 2.8x10^8 is 23.5. Round that up to $24 5. C; subtract each number in the first matrice by the corresponding number in the second matrice 6. I'm not good with factoring, sorry 7. D; you need to multiply all to get the total, also known as the product 8. B; solve the inside of the parenthesis and square it, then times by two; simplify the fraction and add that

first of all you might as well start off by canceling the x terms in the (-2x/x) because it simplifies.
After this we end up with:
x/(x-5)=-2
x=-2(x-5)
x=-2x+10
3x=10
x=10/3
if you solve it straight up, you get the x^2 term and, as a previous answerer did the correct work, you get an answer of zero and which would cause the original equation to be undefined and therefore cannot be an answer to the problem.

cross multiply
x^2 = -2x^2+10x
take the like terms at one side
x^2+ 2x^2 = 10x
3x^2=10x
divide both sides by x
3x = 10
x = 10/3

x / (x - 5) = -2x / x
The two x-s on the RHS cancel:
x / (x - 5) = -2
Multiply by x - 5:
x = -2(x - 5)
Expand the brackets:
x = -2x + 10
Add 2x to each side:
3x = 10
Divide by 3:
x = 10 / 3.

x/x-5= -2x/x
x*x = -2x(x-5)
x^2 = -2x^2 +10x
3x^2 =10x
3x=10
x=10/3

-2x/x = -2 so
x/(x-5)=-2 and x = -2x+10
so 3x=10 and x= 10/3

cross multiply :
(x-5) * -2x = -2x^2 + 10x
x * x = x ^2
So,
-2x^2 + 10x = x^2
-3x^2 + 10x = 0
x*(-3x + 10) = 0
x = 0 or 10/3

cross multiply,
then you get
(x)(x)=(2x)(x-5)
x^2=2x^2-10x then move to one side
x^2-10x=0
x(x-10)=0
X=0 or x=10

x/(x-5)=-2x/x
Or cancelling x ,we have x/(x-5)=-2
Or x=-2(x-5)
Or x=-2x+10
or x+2x=10
so 3x=10
or x=10/3 ans
