Rather than changing your entire wardrobe, why don't you start adding in some color and some colorful accessories---since black is a great neutral that goes with anything. Maybe you could add in some very colorful accessories, like a fuschia belt and a turquiose beaded necklace, and then add in some lighter colored clothing, like pale grey and beige tops. This will give you an overall stylish look without loosing who you are now.
Some great places to look are Ross, TJMaxx, Express (especially when they have a sale), Macy's in the juniors section, and even Kohl's. Just looks for items that look expensive, because you don't need to spend a lot to look like a million bucks.

My sister is a trendsetter and loves 5-7-9 and Wet Seal and Charlotte Rousse. She is a thrifty shopper and believes in ditchng her clothes at the end of a year and going for new stuff. I am more classic. I love New York and Company, Express, and The Limited. I buy things on sale that will last for several years. I also go to outlet malls like in Destin, Fl and Foley, AL and outside of Atlanta.

Black and grey are always going to be the "trendiest" type of color on clothing for a very long time. So I'm glad this question makes my answer more easier.
First off, iheartdropdead (first link) is good for their jackets. I bought my own and I'm in love with it.
Charlotte Russe (second link) is a very nice website to go to.
If you have a nice figure, I suggest skinny jeans. They're "in" this year. Dark skinny jeans preferably like the ones in the 3rd link. Also, they go with ANYTHING.
Asos is a website I JUST found. I fell in love with it. (Fourth link)

Wait for the tax free day, go to the mall, and check out the sales racks first. You need to try on clothes before buying them. Even if you get free shipping, it costs to send them back. If you don't end up wearing them, you have thrown away the money.
I like the short sleeves jackets that are in.

one store i've begun to really like is www.luckyjeans.com. some of their stuff is expensive but their sales are killer and they often have jeans 50%.
www.ardenb.com has some real fun stuff, esp. pants. www.bebe.com has some good party/night out stuff.
for department stores try www.dillards.com or www.nordstrom.com they have really good sales. you may question this, but seriously check this out. i stopped shopping www.macys.com for a while but the last couple of years they have really stepped up the game!
good luck!

...this is so stupid when you ADVERTISE your question with a "ten-points!" hook.
...i mean, we all KNOW that the best answer, out of ANY question, gets ten points.
so... what's the freaking point of putting that in your heading??
hmmm??
...yea. i thought so: no good reason.
don't do it any more.
