Now me and my husband have talked about having another baby but waiting about 6 months before we start trying. How long before we start trying again do I need to stop taking the pill?

Most say to wait 2-3 months before trying after going off the pill. I personally didn't take any precautions after I went off the pill because I heard that it could take 3 months or more for your body to go back to normal. I got pregnant in less than a week's time! I gave birth to a healthy and beautiful baby boy last November. My best advice would be to ask you OB / Gyn what his/her suggestions are and then discuss it with your husband.
Good luck - and Congrats!

It is different for everyone. I stopped taking the pill and I got pregnant that same month. My sister stopped taking the pill and it took her 5 months to get pregnant. Don't stop taking them unless you are prepared to get pregnant as soon as you do. If I were you I'd wait until the baby is at least 1 year old before trying for another. It is just healthier for your body not to have two pregnancies that close together.

The month you decide to start trying. You don't need to stop taking it earlier. The pill only stays in your system for about a day, which is why you have to take one everyday. Also, you are more likely to ovulate the month after you stop taking the pill, so more women conceive the first month off the pill.

you should wait at least 6 months as it is hard on your body. i would stop taking the pill after the 6 months. that way if you do get pregnant right away it would have been 6 months. enjoy the baby you have right now. it is a lot different with two.

the pill take 3 months to get in your system and 3 months to get out. That is what the doctors say but even then you could get pregnant before that three months is up, because every woman body is different.

So i would stop taking it 3 months before you want to get pregnant, but also in those three months use a condom, just to be sure you don't get pregnant early!

Good luck
congrats

Call your doctor...you should have a six month after birth exam any way. Ask him/her this question. Your body is different than anyone elses, and if anyone should know, your doctor should.
You'll get many answers to this question...best answer will come from the professional. Your doctor!
Your doctor will also examine you to see if your body is ready to "try again." Babies conceived too closely together may be high risk. So let your doctor make this decision for you. Miscarriages are painful physically and mentally. Save yourself and your husband the pain and frustration and let your doctor lead your decisions.

if you both plan on getting pregnant again 6 months later...then i suggest you don't get on the pill. The pill can stay effected in your system for 6-12months depending on how long you've been on the pill.
