It seems like they were excited to do the first pictorial because they've never posed before? But I thought Hef's girlfriends posed before becoming girlfriends?

Holly worked at Hooters, which led her to invites at the Playboy mansion. She met Hefner and became his gf. Kendra started out as one of those "painted girls" in the begginging at Hef's 78th b-day party, thats how she met Hef. The painted girls are the ones who were painted on instead of wearing clothes. Bridget sent a letter to Playboy, asking how to become a playmate when she was in college. She was then sent to the Playboy mansion to do a photoshoot, and it turned out succesful.

No, they did not. They only reason they were able to pose was because of the success of girls next door.
