I have taken the pill before and would always skip the last week of placebo and go right into the next pack and it would always skip my period. I just started taking them again and when I skipped the placebo I got my period a week later...its been two weeks now and Im still bleeding heavy. I haven't missed any pills..why do I have my period?

I dont see a issue with skipping them since its a "fake" period when you go thru the whole pack rather just not have one its not necessary...

If you just recently got back on birth control, you may be bleeding because your body is adjusting to the hormones in the BC. Spotting and irregular bleeding is normal when taking birth control. You didn't say if you were taking estrogen or progestin or a combo of the two. It is very important to take you birth control as directed, and to not skip the "placebo and go right into the next pack." You should call your doctor and set up an appointment to get the heavy bleeding checked out. You probably don't need to worry, just remember to take the medication as directed.

You really shouldn't skip the placebos every month. That is, unless you are on Seasonal. Just being on a month-to-month pill and skipping it is not good. You should switch to either Seasonal or Yasmin. You have to wait a week while your placebos pass. You may not need to take them but you can't just ignore them! Like say if your period starts on a Sunday and your placebos have just started, know that you take your new pack that following Sunday! Stop skipping your period so much! Or go on the right pill!

breakthrough bleeding. YOU may not want to have a period, but your body obviously needs one. It's totally normal, but you might want to consider switching to the placebo for the remainder of the week. When it's time to switch back, your body should adjust much better.

It depends on how old you are.
If you are over 40 you could be in peri-menopause or have fibroids.
If you are under 40 you may have fibroids or another problem.
Either way, you need to see your GYN to find out what is going on. Don't ignore something like that. If it ever turned out to be cancer, early treatment is important!

Might be because these pills are different than the others or that you might have to wait another month for your hormone levels to catch up.
