I have checked gigabuzz.com out and don't see why people are so paranoid. Firstly, if all they wanted to do was steal your identity do you think they would put out a press release to draw attention to themselves?
Secondly, they are giving away free membership in July (which means free entry into the billion dollar raffle) and so you are not entering any credit card info or anything. They are not asking for your SS# either.
There seems to be some confusion about the fact they say 1 in 2 people will win a prize. I read it through thoroughly and it seems pretty clear to me. They are giving away about 2.6 million prizes which means they plan to have at least 5.2 million members. Members will either be paying $100 for standard or $500 for gold. So if we said that half would be gold and half standard members this would mean they would collect $1,564,020,600. They are giving $1,000,000,000 of this away in prizes. Remember they only say that you have a 1 in 2 chance of winning a prize, not a 1 in 2 chance of winning half a billion dollars!
Anyway, I figure that they will get much more than 5.2 million members because they are offering the biggest cash prize ever. Even if they got 10 million members effectively you would have a 1 in 10 million chance of winning half a billion which is better odds than you get with any lottery!
I have signed up, it cost me nothing so i have nothing to lose. Those of you that are completely paranoid can wait until you see it all over the press around the world and then pay to sign up!
