The moon landing was not fake, it really happened. Some people have weird conspiracy theories about all sorts of stuff. When I was a kid, the conspiracy theories all revolved around the assination of Kennedy. Nowadays they're moon landing hoax theories.
The facts are (1) we've got moon rocks, which show clear signs of having been exposed to space for ages; (2) the astronauts left laser reflectors on the moon which are still there, and still reflect laser light from earth, and are still used to determine the Moon's distance.

Get this straight and don't be foolish about it any more, okay? The basic technology required for a manned flight to the moon was developed in Germany in the late 1930s through the mid 1940s. This technology needed a lot of refinement to make a safe manned flight a reality.
We worked on that technology through the 1950s and 60s, and made the first manned moon flight in 1969. It all fits together, and if you read all the history and don't let the wackos lie to you, it will be impossible for you to continue to be fooled into believing that the moon missions did not take place.
The American people were much better educated and more intelligent in the 1960s and 70s than they are now, and it would never have occurred to NASA engineers and managers that 35 years later a bunch of ignorant dolts with nothing to do would come up with a stupid conspiracy theory stating that the moon landings were faked.
If that had occurred to them, I suspect the engineers would have gone to the trouble to create a larger and more visible object of proof, to compensate for the decline in the quality of the American mind and its education that occurred during and after the Reagan presidency.
But there is a real physical proof available. The astronauts who landed on the moon left behind reflectors that are used every day by astronomers to measure the irregularities of the moon's orbit. This is done by bouncing laser beams off reflectors at known locations that were left by the astronauts. Ask your science teacher for information about these experiments. You can arrange to see this done with your own eyes.
Let me put the question to you this way: If you think the moon landings were faked, when did they become "fake?" When did the idea become popular that NASA had invented the idea of an imaginary moon mission and created a huge technological empire to fool people? When was all this fakery done? In the 60s? 70s? 80s?
And why? What was the point? And how did they fool all the people that reported the news, operated the machinery, built the moon rockets, and watched them take off and land?
Do you realize that one American in 500 was a part of the Apollo program? Millions of them are still alive. Are they fooling you? Why? If you go out to a football game, look around you. In the stadium there are people who worked on the Apollo program.
Ask around. You are surrounded by people who know for sure that American astronauts stood on the moon more than 35 years ago.

Well, to put it succinctly, there are a bunch of bozos that claim the lunar landing in 1969 never took place, that it was all staged in a large warehouse or something like that. Their claim is "supported" by pictures where they argue about details that were explained years ago, yet they still claim it was all fake.
Which it was not.
The moon landings were real.
The real crazy thing is that the same people would go on and claim the US has captured a UFO that crashed landed in 1947--sure the US has a UFO and understand the technology and can go (secretly of course) on other planets, but would have had to fake a moon landing in 1969. So logical...

There was nothing fake about the Apollo Program back in the 60's. I'm retired now, but back then was deeply involved in the program. I worked at the Canton Island site in the mid Pacific, during the Gemini program and was involved in recovering the astronauts when the returned from space. During the Apollo 11 program I was at the Tananarive Madagascar Apollo site communicating with the capsule as it started trans-lunar injection and was at the Goldstone site in California for the later Apollo flights. I operated tracking antennas as the astronauts went to and from the moon. IT WAS NO FAKE. All was real and it was a shame we didn't continue on while we had a great infrastructure in place.

Conspiracy theorists believe that the landing on the moon was fake. A few reasons being
1) Stars in the photographs from moon should appear brighter given the fact that moon does not have an atmosphere to dull the brightness of the stars.
2) The footprint of the astronaut on the moon seems impossible to have been made by man. Since the gravity on moon is far less than what is on earth the footprint had to be that of a man abt 500 pounds which know wasn't the case.
Hope it helps.

The "fake" moon landings is a conspiracy theory that has evolved from the general public mistrust of anything government. Some people believe that NASA faked the ladings to "save face" with the American public at a time when we were competing with the Soviet Union for superiority in every aspect of life. At the time of Apollo, the Soviet Union had five times more manned hours in space than the US. People believe that we did not have the technology to land on the moon so in order to "beat" the Soviet Union, the moon landings were filmed on some sound stage. They claim to have evidence to support the theory, however most of the "evidence" is speculation and is not of sound scientific principals. http://www.lunaranomalies.com/fake-moon.htm is a good website that will expain both sides, you decide for yourself, however I believe that 12 people DID walk on the moon.

Back in the 1960s President Kennedy set a goal that before the decade ended, Americans would set foot on the moon. Many people believe that that goal was just a way to explain the disappearance of billions of dollars from the national budget; they'll tell you that we never actually landed on the moon, that all the video taken of people walking on the surface of the moon was staged.
These are the same people who will tell you that the CIA teamed up with Fidel Castro and the Russian KGB to assassinate Kennedy, or that aliens have taken over the bodies of our national leaders.

Like almost any big event (JFK assassination, 911, the tsunami, for example), there are always some people who say it was a fake, a conspiracy, etc. There are whole web pages devoted to conspiracy buffs. They are typified by being young, impressionable, non-discerning in their thought process and have a feeling of wanting to belong or to be in on something others are not. Careful, rational-minded people view them as an amusing sideshow.
Sometimes, these conspiracies take on a life of their own, like this one has, because some evidence at first blush, looks suspicious and the conspiracy buffs are attracted like sharks to blood. To see the moon landing questions intelligently answered, go to www.badastronomy.com.

The Moon landing was not faked, it was real, but there are idiots out there who like to claim it was faked because they have no idea that # 1 although it is possible to fake a landing today, it was impossible in 1969 to fake it.
Plus had we really faked it, the Russians would have found out and they would have exposed us for lying.
But they never did because they knew we told the truth.

it wasn't fake, there were just a bunch of people who believed it was fake.
We landed on the moon during the cold war, the space race was an attempt to prove that we had superior technology and thus scare our enemies into giving in. so some people thought that instead of actually going to the moon, we staged it and said we did to gain the advantage within the cold war.
