Many believe science proves that love is just another emotion. A chemical reaction to something. Nothing more. I'm not here to dispute whether that's true or not. I just want to know, if you believe that to be true...

What do you live for??? And do you find that to be a little depressing (that that's all love is)???

No, love is not an emotion, it is a drive. A drive is something that we naturally look to satisfy, and something we can not live without (thirst, sleep, hunger, elimination). Happiness and sadness that can be associated with love, are in fact the emotions. If you did not have love when you were a baby, you would not have survived to be alive now.

I believe love can be felt emotionally, but I believe it's more than an emotional feeling. Most parents love their children no matter what and would do anything, for their children. Most mothers would fight unto death to protect their children and that includes almost any animal. Try and attempt to take a tiger cub or bear cub from it's mother, that could prove to be a very fatal move. Are tigers & bears emotional creatures? I don't think so. So, I think science doesn't completely understand love. Love is more than just an emotion, it's more likely an instinct to perserve one's life.

I live for life & to accomplish success. I choose to love my husband (emotion) but my love for my children is much more intense and I don't choose to love my children, it's an instinct that I can't help. Good luck 2D

Oh, so emotions are irrelevant? it is humorous... they administration lots of our lives. What are you, to boot a good purchase of emotions (and, particular, synapses and all that)? emotions impression each and every thing. Your evaluations on diverse themes are laid low with your emotions. Your friendships and relationships are heavily laid low with your emotions. Even what you prefer to do on your loose time. I strongly have faith that emotions are actually not illusions. in my view, concept is fact. you sense happy, nicely then by making use of golly, you will desire to be happy. comparable with each and every of the others. What you sense is what you sense, era. in case you have faith you're completely and thoroughly in love, then you definitely are. there isn't any arguing with the way you sense, because of the fact it relatively is approximately YOU. nevertheless, i'm uncertain what your "emotions are illusions" fact has to do with your question approximately God. people have faith God "is" love because of the fact's what they have been informed -- and in the event that they are fortunate adequate, that's what they have discovered to be actual. that's what they suspect. Why argue with somebody's very own ideals? they are not hurting you any, and you'd be able to nevertheless have faith in spite of you elect.

Even if love was just an emotion, let's stop and listen to that phrase- "JUST an emotion!" That's like saying, "JUST a sunrise," or "JUST a rainbow." The fact that we can experience emotion at all is beautiful, because that's what makes us human. Every emotion is beautiful, even anger, because it is a form of human self-expression. To get back to your original question, though- I think love is more than a chemical response to something. When you really love someone, to the point where you would take a bullet for them, it leaves the realm of emotion and goes deeper than that, to something more spiritual and sacred.

I don't live for love.
It's not my goal, my end all, my sustenance or anything like that.

I also don't believe in any god or afterlife at all.

I don't have children and never intend to have any.

What do I live for? For me to experience things. To be the best Me i can, and experience everything I can.

There doesn't need to be a purpose to life to live it. Who defines purpose?
That would be very depressing if others could define how I should live my life.

I enjoy mine- despite the fact that love is just an emotion to me.

When you(or anyone) experience "true love",There will not be a way to explain it!!
There is no scientific explanation....
In doing my best to steer away from all the religious hype,I would like to say it's like two souls intertwining and becoming one.....
Lust is easy to mistake for true love, the same hormones and dopamine are released,so it is easy to be fooled, but this is extremely temporary, then when we try and extend this feeling with the wrong person,it is always met with a heartbreaking ending......
When you experience true love,I would love for you to come leave a note on my 360 blog and try to explain it.......You cant.

I do believe there is some type of chemistry initially. But I think that's simply how we are drawn to someone. But real love comes from getting to know someone. The longer you know someone, and like what you find, the more likely it is you will fall in love, stay in love w/someone. No matter how much attraction there is at first, if you get to know someone and don't like them, you're just not going to fall/stay in love..
