Yes, I realize it sounds strange but piracy is still practiced and becoming more of a problem. They've started going after cruise ships now.

Hadn't thought of canoeing, Sylvia, but I'll put it on the to think about list.

And to all of you suffering effects of high water, our thoughts go out to you.

You may have to try another planet. From what I have seen in the past year or so, pirates are very active in many places in the world.

I saw one incident where two boats were traveling together to try and protect each other, but they got attacked anyway. On one boat two people were killed, and the 2 on the other were both wounded badly but managed to survive.

Sailing the world's seas and oceans has always been dangerous, and it is no different today.

gldsinc, I'm sorry I'm not a traveller, but I just noticed that you have asked 3 q's about being on the water.

You forgot to ask about canoeing in the uk. the amount of rain we've had today, some places are seriously flooded again
I think you could row down a lot of High Streets tonight lol x

Joking aside, I feel very sorry for the victims whose homes are flooded so forgive me for my little joke, I do understand it's not funny for you and hope you can return home soon x
