Suppose q and r are two lines intersected by transversal t. If one of the angles formed by q and t is congruent to every angle formed by r and t, which would be true? r is parallel to t? q is perpendicular to r? q is parallel to t or is r perpendicular to t? I am having some problems figuring this question out. If any body is good at geometry it would be very appreciated if somebody could help me out! Thanks.

Q and R are parallel and T is perpendicular to both Q and R.

If one of the angles formed by q and t is congruent to EVERY angle formed by r and t,then that angle must be a 90 degree angle, which makes it a right angle, which makes it perpendicular since that is the definition of a perpendicular line - that it makes a right angle to another line.
Why couldn't it be another angle instead of a 90 degree angle? Because if it were an 89 degree angle, for example, it would have to have another angle next to it to add up to 180 degrees that two angles together make on a straight line. Then those angles aren't equal.
Once you know that the angle is 90 degrees, everything else falls into place. Two lines perpendicular to the same line (the transversal t line) will be parallel.

The only way this could be true is for r to be perpendicular to t. Perpendicular means at 90 degrees to each other. I hope this helps.

This is really basic geometry. You should be studying a lot if you can't get stuff as basic as these.

i think it is wrong how could r be perpindicular to t and parralel to it at the same time
