I see classic stupidity in some answers... The Mexican gov. does not neglect health care. Any worker is entitled to health care for him and his family. The cost for health insurance provided through your employer costs about $2.00-$3.00 U.S. dollars per week for a family of 3. If you are self-employed, you can have insurance by paying $50 dollars in advance and $30 per month. There is no possible way you cant have an insurance unless you dont want to. Regarding the immigrant tide, that comes a long way since the TLC, you see, most immigrants are the ones affected by the treaty and couldnt keep up with the production/prices/etc... mostly southern, these immigrants have left their fields to pick up your crops. I dont see 20 million unemployed citizens btw. Check your unemployment statistics, oh, and I am sure there are not unemployed valet parking guys or toilet cleaners who complain about an immigrant taking their sweet job.

Mexico is a large country and has some oil wealth but it does have a lot of poor citizens. While the economy is expanding the lack of basic education in many areas means that business cannot locate there so there are large pockets of poverty and also large pockets of wealth. In some of the poorer states I have seen that there is no tradition of education as parents did not attend high school or beyond and they don't see any reason to make the effort for their kids to go. And then they are out looking for manual labor jobs with little hope. In that way it is sort of self inflicted and those are the ones who cross the border illegally. We are not getting the middle class coming you know, the professional people can immigrate or work cross the border with no problem. The poor are convinced that if they come to the US they can jump ahead of educated Mexicans and instantly become properous without any skills. In some ways thats like it is in the US inner cities. You can be in many cities and suburbs in Mexico and it is just as prosperous as Southern California. They do not have a good health care delivery system for the poor. its hard to compare the Mexican government to the US because of the disparity in resources and available health care professionals. Mexico is not a bad country as is often assumed during immigration rants, its just limited in what it can do.

huh??
since when has it been the responsibility of government anywhere, including a developing country, to provide 'basic human needs' for its citizens??
aren't the citizens capable of making their own way in the world, given the framework of the nation and God's gifts to humanity to build on?
Certainly, in the case of Mexico, the population took care of itself before the conquistadores came. Their home grown and home made methods apparently worked since the estimated population of what we now call Mexico City was greater than the population of Rome at the time.
afaik, no developing nation anywhere has ever provided much to fill 'basic human needs' -- I'd guess becuase they haven't the revenues to do so.
it is only the rich countries which conceive that people aren't capable of taking care of themselves and so 'need' the government to do so.
Btw, they're wrong in that assumption, too. Most people are capable. Get used to it. Let them make their own decisions according to their own values. The alternative is called tyrrany, no matter how well intentioned.

Of course. Otherwise, why would anyone gamble their life in rugged terrain and other obstacles just to get to the U.S.? The mexican government does not care about its people.
No matter what the nay-sayers tell you, America has the highest standard of living of anywhere on the planet. Don't ask knuckleheads like Michael Moore, Rosie O'Donnell or Ted Turner that though. They only see it as a place to make their untold millions.

no longer something he says will replace the yank human beings from disliking government wellbeing Care. besides the shown fact that, i do no longer think of that's the reason he's having the speech earlier the joint consultation of Congress. i think of he's installation the Republicans for a ton of television coverage of them no longer applauding and leaping up and down in glee over his comments in his speech and that they're going to seem to be the clarification wellbeing care reform would not bypass. regrettably, some Democrats will have faith that the Republicans are in charge and overlook concerning to the actuality that the Democrats do no longer choose one unmarried Republican vote to bypass any wellbeing care bill because of the fact they have maximum folk. Obama and his "advisors" comprehend that youthful voters exceedingly won't do any serious thinking and that's the reason they started out complaining concerning to the Republican opposition first of all. that's the straw guy tactic and we can get to verify it visually throughout television on Tuesday nighttime.

Because they have everything under control so the powers that be don't have to worry about a revolution. This is especially true when they can get the more aggressive members of the populous to go to the US.

Why not? They can come here, we foot the bill, and those Mexican citizens can send all their money back to Mexico to boost their economy.
