Way too much and it doesn't make things more humorous. That is not the point of this forum. Many treat this site like the old message boards, which is not the intent of Yahoo!. Ah, well. I guess as a registered Independent, I'll just have to continuously deal with being called Godless, a hippie, a socialist, a baby-killer, anti-American, et al.

of course there is, and it is 10 to 1 Conservatives against Liberals.
here is what someone said a few minutes ago about Democrats:
1. Because they have, post JFK, been taken over by anti USA leftist like Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan they will NOT defend the country from foreign enemies.
2. They will gut the military and intelligence services to pay for all the handouts they promise their supporters.
3. They always raise taxes. Every time without fail. JFK was the last dem to CUT taxes.
4. They are hostile to people of religious faith.
5. They are the pro gay marriage and abortion on demand party
that is dripping with stereotypes, gross exaggerations, and probably flat out lies.

Yes. It would be more interesting if people stopped calling each other names and stopped quoting talking points from political parties and started offering considered, thoughtful opinions. Unfortunately, it won't happen.
REPLY TO TAYLOR G.
Although the NSDAP (the Nazi Party) had the word Socialist in its name, they could not be called socialist in any serious sense of that word. It was a fascist party, pure and simple. Socialism does not necessarily equal totalitarianism; there have been democratically elected and democratic socialist parties in Europe and several Canadian provinces.

Inpossible! In politics theres is many times a hidden schedule that politicians and their activities or governments do not want and can't located on the communicate table; hence, they're going to intentionally divert the communicate direction staggering right into a "shouting suits" and "crass comments"

I dnt mind the people who give extremely racial, sexist or labeled opinions because if thats how they vent more power to them. I 'd rather them type for hours on here than take out their frustrations on whatever group of people in real life.
People are hiding behind their avatars and funny names but in reality they are regular individuals like you and me, if it takes a diguise for people to say what they really mean I'm for it at least they arent BSn us like politicians often do.
The only thing that frustrates me is when you try to ask a serious question and people take it for granted and give short, angered, low substance answers. We can do better. America

I don't give it much thought myself. After putting up with racial stereo types my entire life, from whites AND blacks, (not everyone of course) , YA is a cake walk.
Blacks have pondered my "blackness" for not saying "yo" every other instance. White sales people in high end stores have spoken to me as though I didn't belong and couldn't afford their goods. Not everyone of course. It is actually becoming more rare as the years progress.
Political stereo types are more jovial than anything else in my view. I stereo type neo-cons keeping in mind that every Republican is NOT a neo-con. Neo-cons are hard right, blind, radicals that are ruining the nation. That being said, I enjoy reading the neo-con replies and will give them Best Answer even though we disagree.

Absolutely!
That's typically because the people answering questions on the political forum are already set in their views, either conservative or liberal, and therefore view the opposite side with contempt.
Even independants typically lean one way or the other. Despite their claims, very, very few people are truly 'middle of the road'.
Naturally I fall into the same category. I pity the people whose views are opposite my own because naturally I feel I'm correct and they are deluding themselves. :-)

Nah, it's all in fun. I don't like people doing personal attacks or using curse words. Also, the childish people who post avatar's that are inappropriate for kids...those people tick me off. Lot's of people have young children that don't need to see that kinda stuff on the monitor.

Ya think? Anger and pity. I manage to ignore much of it. Sometimes people go too far.
