No because I got 9 thumbs up on an answer I gave but the asker chose an answer from someone who didn't get any thumbs up. I don't think most askers base which answer they choose as best answer on the thumbs up given.

LOL That does happen sometimes. Some askers are more swayed by the thumbs up they see rather than just going ahead with reading and choosing for themselves. You do have a point.

I don't care, I give thumbs up if I think it was good, or funny, I don't really care if I win best answer. I don't know what the asker is looking for sometimes, humor or serious, thorough, or one word, so I just support those I like.

Well I think that if you give a thumbs up thta means you think that they should win points really arent amazingly hard to get if you dont think you have a decnt answer dont say anything :)
