I love pantene products. Dove has some new product that are really good too. I didn't see a big difference/improvement when I used expensive salon stuff, just less money in my wallet!
p.s. for another big difference, try rinsing you hair with bottled (purified) drinking water !!!

Ok so this is a much better observation.
Take your all of Tigi bottles of shampoo. Your Pantene. Your Garnier and whatever else you are using and look at the ingredients.
Do you see anything that says "sodium" listed? (Sodium Laurethyl, etc)
If so this is why you are having trouble with these products. Tigi (if I'm not mistaken, has several sodium ingredients which DRY OUT your hair, and strip it from proteins, therefore requiring you to purchase a conditioner).
My suggestion: Aveda.
Or any other plant-based products that are sodium free. ESPECIALLY if you color and bleach your hair!
Your hair is too delicate to be putting abrasive products that contain heavy amounts of sodium!!! This is the secret that many women and even hairdressers are not aware of. My mother is hairstylist who just started working at a new Aveda spa and just found out this important new beauty fact about sodium in your hair.
Aveda products work so nicely that you dont even really need a conditioner with them...
Definitely worth the money!

If you've used the same kind of salon shampoo all year and then you changed it up with anything it will make your hair look and feel better. You really should use something different every now and then or use a clarifying shampoo to get rid of the buildup that was caused by using the same one over & over, which can make your hair dull and flat.
I think some salon shampoos are technically better for your hair because they have less harsh ingredients in them than the cheaper ones. I can tell a difference, & I really like Aveda's b/c it seems to have more natural stuff in it.
But I'm sure there's some people out there who swear by the cheaper kinds. .

I use Redken for curly hair and I love it, my hair never looks so good. I think salon products are like cheapy products, you have to find what works best for you. I don't care what anyone says, my hair gets immune to certain products after a long time and I have to switch it up. It really helps my hair to use a mild clarifying shampoo about once a week to get all the product/build up off of it. I use the suave for that one, it's great. Honestly, Pantene makes my head break out.

Not at all. After I got my hair treated at a salon, I bought the expensive shampoo and conditioner that they recommended for my dry hair .The shampoo worked fine, but it was no different than my Pantene Pro-V. The conditioner was just horrible, it didnt moisturise my hair at all. I've had drugstore brands that work much better. Now I still use the expensive shampoo, but for my conditioner, I use Aussie Moisturising Conditioner, which works amazingly.

Salon shampoo is better and safer on your hair but if you use it to much your hair becomes immune to it. And might to longer have an effect on it. So you should use Salon shampoo but then now and then use Pantene or Garnier.

Not at all, the shampoo in the salon is probably cheaper than pantene, they just putting a fancy label on it and a incredibly high price on it.

Hair professionals will try to tell you that salon shampoo uses better ingredients, etc. than drugstore shampoo, but it's not true. My BF works for a company that manufactures and supplies hotels and spas and whatnot with all the llittle shampoos and soaps you find in a hotel, and he says they use the same recipe for shampoo at fitness clubs as they do for the chi-chi, foofy spas. They just use different, more elegant packaging at the fancy places.
As for me, I have tried all the fancy brands, but nothing makes it look as good as John Frieda Frizz-Ease from Wally World.

I think you end up paying more for the salon product. Shampoo, just like all other beauty products, differs from person to person. I personally use the Garnier Fructis brand and LOVE it. I think you should try out different brands and test drive them for about a month. You yourself can determine which product you liked best.

Consumer Reports has done testing on this and found there is little to no difference in a lot of the hair products. Every once in awhile, I will see comparisons in magazines and some of the less expensive products get better reviews from users.
