Obviously all the two "major" parties are concerned about is appeasing big business. Furthermore, when you really look at it both have been watered down to the point of being the same. As our government grows larger, our rights as citizens diminish in the process (this has been amplified 100x since 911). What will it take for a third party that actual upholds the constitution (instead of warping it to fulfill their own agendas) to rise to power? Is there any hope for a true democracy in the United States as envisioned by our fore-fathers? I love my country with all my heart, but it sickens me to see the bastardization of democracy under the guise of "freedom". We're not as free as we may think. I cringe every time I hear “homeland security” it’s eerily similar to Nazi “Heimatland” propaganda. How can we return our government to a Jeffersonian system with strict interpretation of our constitution, and a central government with greatly constrained powers without violence?

Political Parties are like exclusive Fraternities. The members only objective is in lining their own pockets. So the more legislation they can get to benefit themselves also gives them more power to get re elected. In other words your taxes are primarily being used for politicians to get re elected. The people have been so co-opted that to put Humpty back together is practically impossible short of a Jeffersonian recommended revolution. In short DON'T vote for either major party.

A third party can, has and will again rise in America. When the founding father started America the two parties were The democratic republicans and the Federalists. It just so happens that as a third party rises one of the two incumbent parties falls.there have been other parties throughout the years like the Whigs

I thoroughly consider you. all the different progressed democracies have greater suitable than 2 significant political events. The lifestyles of in basic terms 2 leads itself to an "the two/or" dynamic the place you have your occasion, or "team" you root for. basically using fact I despise the Republican occasion does not propose i'm a Democratic sycophant. there are countless issues incorrect with them. The greater voices heard in a democracy the greater suitable.

Because the two dominant powers have gerrymandered the district lines, and manipulated the electoral college, to ensure that they stay in power.

It's the only thing both parties agree on -- keeping everyone else powerless.

Systemic corruption, the lack of will of American people, lack of financing, lack of support, lack of ideas which would propel said third party to the top (sure they have good ideas, but if you're going to break the status quo you need a brain approaching einstein level).
