I wouldn't do it. The best way to break a bad habit is to not begin it.

Welcome to the world of bookmaking! I as a matter of fact I do a little betting myself. To be honest it's not that hard. I 've got to say it can be an addiction. Well, for one, the money is good(if you know what you're doing). And they take any amount of money(it might be differ in Vegas). The bookies take any amount of money. There's a difference between gamblers and players. Gamblers can bet basically anything because they usually or most of the time have the money. Players are the newcomers in the game. They tend to take it slow. But what are the odds????

It differs for any bookie or bet. Some bookies for example, might give a team an extra point or so, while the Las Vegas odds might add/subtract a point off or so. Bookies on the other hand, might make their own system(as a matter of fact, the "oddsmakers"(favorites) is usually or most of the same, it depends on the points). So, what is the system???

To be honest, it's not as hard as it sounds. The most common bet is a winner. For example, who will win the game from the Saints and Titans??? Put down the amount, then pick a winner. It's probably one of the most common bets we make with friends or so on. The second bet you can put is the OVER/UNDER. Basically what they do is give a number and you decide if it will go OVER OR UNDER(for example, say the over/under for the Saints vs Titans is 35. You basically select if that game will score 35points(combine) or more. Or if they'll score under 35 points(combine). Select an OVER or UNDER, place an amount and see if you got it. And the last but not least, the point system. This is probably one of the most difficult ones. This is where the favorites come into place. For example, say in the game(Saints vs Titans) the Saints are the favorite by 7 points(this is how it will look Saints -7). Meaning that in order for you to win, the Saints must win by 7 points or more. Also, the underdog(Titans) will be Titans +7. Basically this one(Titans +7) states that either the Saints or Titans will lose by 7 points or less(think of it as the opposites). It gives the opprtunity to not only think you can lose but also give yourself a chance(NOTE: This point system is very, very difficult). And, this point system works just like the rest. Pick a selection(for example, Saints -7) enter your amount($$$) and see if in fact the Saints will win by 7 points or more. NOTE: ONCE YOU'VE MABE A BET, THEY WILL GIVE YOU A "BET SLIP", JUST THINK OF IT AS A RECEIPT THAT YOU NEED TO KEEP, SO YOU CAN KEEP TRACK.

PS: I actually did some betting online. The only problem with that is that you don't get paid on the same day(if you win). It takes a process and so on. I actually know bookies and I do it from them now. They will pay you on that same day(if you win). If you need help still, here's a website that can really give you an idea about the system....

Football betting is pretty basic. There is a point spread and an over/under. As was said, just keep it basic. No need to look into teasers and the like. For example, if NO is a 7 point favorite, you have to decide if the Saints will win by more then 7 points. If you do, bet with them. If you either think the Titans will win or lose by 7 or less, bet them. As for the over/under, if the number is 45 and you think it will be a high scoring game, bet the over, if not, bet the under. There are other factors so your best bet is to keep it simple.

Other than that, it's not unlike betting at a race track. You go to the window and place your bet with the cashier. Get your ticket, watch the game, if you win, cash your ticket.

Look up at the board that has all the lists of games. There is a number next to the team your want. Go to the cage (the cashier) and tell them your want X amount of dollars on that number. There are other bets that you can do like overs and unders but if you are new to it keep it basic. Good Luck

One more piece of advice. Caesars Palace makes the spreads for the majority of the casinos. So there is no use in casino hoping for a better spread.
