Although my wife's father performed fuel calculations for the original Apollo landing, I'll spare you that speech. Instead, I will encourage you to watch two programs. The first show is called Conspiracy Moon Landing that it currently showing on the National Geographic Channel and it pretty much obliterates all of the popular conspiracy theories.
I would also encourage you to watch a movie called Capricorn One. Made it 1978, it is a fictional story about a fake mission to Mars. Although it is a science fiction story, it is a good example of how utterly impossible it would be to fake a moon landing for any length of time.
12 men walked on the moon from 1969 to 1972 and we have neither the resources nor the technology to pull off that big of a hoax for so long. Hundreds of thousands of people have worked on the space program. It would be far easier to put someone on the moon than to try and fake it and keep it secret for nearly 40 years.
The landings came at a time when our space program was ultra competitive with the former Soviet Union. Remember how big of a deal it was when Sputnik was put into orbit? They had the technology to monitor our moon shots and transmissions. Don't you think they would have called us out if they had evidence that it was all fake?
Perhaps the most definitive proof of our trip to the moon is what we left behind. For the last 35+ years, scientists have been beaming lasers to the moon and measuring the return times. How are they doing this? The beams are reflected back by equipment left on the moon on at 3 different locations.
Case closed.

I am amazed at the number of people who really believe the lunar landing could have been faked. Several have talked about the level of technology available could not have achieved a lunar landing. The real kicker is the technology available to fake this was not available and would have been a greater feat then the moon landing.
And the old why is the flag waving if there is no air (first of all the moon atmosphere is not a 100% vacuum, second of all when you move something it stays in motion until a force equal to the motion stops it. In space if you wave a flag and let it go its going to keep moving. Try a study in the laws of physics. Another one I heard why the astronauts didn’t jump off the moon if it is zero gravity (I can’t believe that one, what do they teach in schools these days). The moon has gravity, much less then earth but much more then zero! Then there are the picture issues, no stars, shadows, etc, ….. These pictures were taken on the moon where the light source is bright against a black sky. To take a picture of a brightly lit landscape and have faint stars in the sky appear in the picture would be very difficult to do even with today’s photographic technology. Just try to take a picture of yourself with the sun behind you same type of thing. Do you really want to know the truth? That’s the Question.
Maybe you should talk to some of us who watched as astronauts climb into rockets and saw them blast off into the sky! There were only a few thousand that saw this.
Or maybe most of all you should stop taking what you saw on TV or a web sight as fact and do some good old fashion research yourself. Deception is out there on both sides quit letting everyone else tell you what to think. This is true on many topics out there today; Global Warming, Evolution, Carbon Dating, cold-fusion, perpetual motion. Find out the truth for yourself. If so-n-so says something on TV then first find out where the source of the information was from. What scientific evidence supports it? Who made the statement? Do they have any credibility (outside of some phony title any one can claim a title (“by the way I’m Professor Bull”). You will not find the truth on TV or from a web site or from one author’s or scientist opinions, or for that matter from this athor. The truth is found by seeking factual and supported and confirmed information from both sides of an issue.

I believe we have never had the technology to land on the moon. The space race was just that a race when we realized we needed to keep our status as a global leader in tech we faked it so that the other nations would back off at our greatness. Those that are curious please look up a certain belt or area between earth and the moon. No ship could ever survive passing through this it is to intense. Look at technology in general we had the ability to orbit earth but we have never had the ability to land on the moon and than come back to earth. Also think a little what happends to a meteor when it comes in to our atmosphere and think of what some of these are made of google a little and see. how our atmosphere destroys these beyond rock objects. Just think, use your head, never believe what people tell you, ask questions, get away from the sheople heard and become an individual thinker and once all thhe brain washing has cleansed out of your system and believe in God.

YES! It supplied news that covered up the mess in Vietnam, just they're doing now with the Anna Nicole Smith's in the news.
Big money doesn't care about who or what, or anything else but PROFIT!!
If we DID go to the moon: Where are Mickeys' Ears?
Or McDonalds Golden Arches? The first thing we do is exploit, so if there's no advertising, no moon landing!!
By the way, who took the movie of the "lunar module" lifting off the surface? Remote control? How about a REAL explanation about this? Protected by FOIL?? Come on......

Ok.... It absolutely amazes me at the answers to this question.
Yes, we went to the moon. The Soviets would have slapped us down like dogs if we had faked the moon landing. They tracked us the entire time.
It is a fair question but really, if anyone over 7 or 8 years of age believes it was fake then they are Internet illiterate.
For those of you who do think it is fake....... get off your duffs and do some research ...NOT just listen to the conspiracy theorists. You don't have to believe the government, National Geographic ( which is a great documentary) or even me.... but investigate it. Travel to whatever observatory you need to go to see the site. Buy a large telescope. Whatever... but find out for yourself!
It honestly is insulting to the men and women who have died in the pursuit of space exploration to think it is fake.
It is easy to jump on the wagon of disbelief but don't rely on others, investigate yourself... heck some people still think the world is flat.

It was real. All of the supposed "evidence" has been countered, many many times. Faking it would not have been possible with the knowledge and technology of the times, nor would such a fake have stood up to modern forensic analysis. Plus, the more people are involved in a hoax, the more likely it is that the information will leak or one of them will admit it outright. The number of people needed to fake a moon landing, including multiple launches that hundreds of people witnessed (unless everyone who went down to watch them was a hired patsy-including the news media people) would have assured that a leak would have happened somewhere along the line.

So now I am 58 yrs. old now I believe it more now that it was a FAKE. And we or any one else has never been on the Moon.

It is astonishing to me that anyone believes the landings were faked. This is more evidence of the price we pay for the long decline in educational standards in the US, (particularly in math & science.) It is a sad state of affairs when more people believe in invisible superbeings, than the capabilities of humans to work together to achieve "impossible" goals like safely visiting another world.
The Apollo program was an incredible achievement that should have opened the door to a vigorous expansion of manned exploration and settlement off Earth. It cannot be overemphasized how important it is for humanity to safeguard its existence by resuming this effort. We live in a cosmic shooting gallery and it is only a matter of time before the next extinction level event.

of course it was fake, here people says about lassers signals send to the moon, so you're sayin it's the same equipment of 35 years ago, because laser technology has a big difference in these years. come on, it's ridiculous believe that in more than 30 years nobody has gone again. in the videos you can see the shadows and the air waving the flag, it's not possible, and the sand in the boot?? it's fake like the 30 dollars bill.

Yes, the compasses and sextons we used then were very low tech. There were no gps Garmin devices and the astraknots would have gotten lost. Although fuel was much cheaper it wasn't as good as the stuff they sell at the pumps today. They would have run out of gas even if they had decent directions. If you look closely you can see the backgrounds are from an old Jules Verne movie that had been colorized. Hope this helps.
