Getting married in Oct. trying to save money. What is the best part of Maine to go to? I heard it's beautiful.

Not for a honeymoon, no. I am there quite often though. The best place is where are things you want to do. I happen to like the Northern coast. The Southern coast is nice as well, just more people.

Personally I'd go to Bar Harbor/ Acadia National Park /Mt Desert Island.
The summer crowds will be gone so you can pretty much explore the Park and the towns on Mt.Desert Island at your leisure.
Dress warm-Gore -Tex shell garments and fleece underneath it are recommended
Do the Jordan Pond loop hike and try to figure out while "The Bubbles " were so named
Nearest airport w/ jet service is Bangor

A place you might check is the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine. It is right on the ocean so all rooms have a water view. This is considered Mid-Coast Maine, (Camden, Rockport, Rockland).
The scenery is fantastic and there are several lighthouses that are easy to get to. Great places to eat too.
Depending on your actual date, you better check availability, this is "foliage season". A beautiful time to be here.

York Harbor on old Route 1 is breathtaking. The rocky shoreline meeting the Atlantic Ocean is a sight not soon forgotten. Also you have Ogunquit is also a quaint village.
