This question is for people who didn't have sex till their wedding night(both the man and the woman waited). Was it awkward? If so, why?

Can give you an answer about first times.. either a person's first time or a couple's first time together.. it is usually akward, yet fun.. there's a lot of fumbling and such.. the first time you walked, did you get up and run.. the first time you drove a car, was it in the Indy 500? No, you have to start out slow and the more practice you get.. the better you are together.. after a bit, each learns the others touch and likes / dislikes.. and, with the right partner, can be mind blowing...

It was a little awkward, but at the same time beautiful. There was a lot of foreplay before the actual sex. You are just discovering each other for the first time. Honestly the sex sucks when it is the first time for both, but you learn together and figure out what you like and what your partner likes. I have been married now three years and it only gets better as you develop a more intimate relationship with your partner.

Personally your first time having sex is very painful for the woman and women have an idealized image of what their first time is going to be like especially when it is on their honeymoon and are drastically disappointed. I personally did not save myself but have had many many conversations with women over the years that did and they said it was the most disappointing event in their lives and many of them are downright scarred from it. However I am sure if you guys discuss it and talk about your fears and concerns it can be a wonderfull, beautiful experience that will be one of the most memorable times of your life.

I don't know if I qualify. I was not a virgin on my wedding night BUT my husband was. Our wedding night was OUR first time and his first time ever.

Our first time was awkward but it was very special. I had been abstinent for a few years and frankly it was like losing my virginity all over. It hurt and I cried happy tears afterward. It was awkward because we weren't sure what each other liked yet, and how to express likes and dislikes yet.

It wouldn't be any more awkward on your wedding night than the first night any night. But I don't think it should be awkward at all. If you are with the right person, it should be natural and beautiful.
