I have found a few people who write edit as an answer to some P&S questions - I was wondering what is the purpose of this. I am guessing I didn't read the weekly memo again. Woe is me :-(!!!

thats because the avatar question involves them writing something about who is below them or above them,,, they wont know exactly who until they post.... so they put "edit"..

It's all part of the avatar game craze. Someone will post a question such as, "Give a comment about the avatar above you", then people type in "edit" because their answer has to post before they can see who's above them. After they've seen who it is, they go back and "edit" their post and give an answer to the question.

This is during the avatar games. So what happenes is they want to see who is above them and below them before they start to play. They write edit and then come back and see who they are going to comment on. I just leave a period and then come back to play.

most people use this for the avatar games to wait and see who is in front of them and who is after them before writing something...then they go back and edit all the stuff they learned into their answer

it is usually a question where they have to go back in to edit their answer..like the avatar questions where you need to comment on the avatar above or below you and you don;t know who it is going to be so you put 'edit' and then go back in to see who it is and then put your actual answer.

usually it is for the avatar games - you are directed sometimes
to say something to the person above or below you. obviously you don't know that when you answer so you have to go back to it. and ohter people just want to be closer to the top.

you cannot answer till you know who is above and below you so you put edit, then see who it is and then you EDIT
