I bought a camcorder battery from a US web site http://www.global-batteries.com/index.php and I wanted it to be delivered to a canadian address.
Six weeks gone now but not received it. when I inquired them, they say I have entered a wrong canadian zip code and because of that I have not received it. But I contacted canadian post office and they say that they can find the address even without the zip code and will take a little longer. But Global-Batteries says they cant do anything but if I pay another $ 8.00 they can resend another product. But I dont want to do that, as I believe that this is not my mistake.
1. Why Global-Batteries web site accepted zip code if I entered it wrong (I have given a five digits instade the six digit zip code)
2. I entered and paid to a US web site and my credit card has been debited from Hong Kong. Can they do it legally? as I am unaware my credit card details are passed to another country.

Is there any place that I can compain in US gov?

i think they can do it legally, but here are a few things you can do.

1. File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau
2. Call the company and hear a voice- its much more effective and ask to talk to the manager if there is one or whoever is in charge. Tell them you plan on filing a complaint and making it known in forums and on yahoo that thier website has horrible customer service. Only do this if they don't listen to your needs.
3.Call your CC company- most likely if its under 20-30 they will just refund the money and take it up with the company. In most cases they take thier money abck from the company! its funnyy!

GOod luck!

well just ask for your money back.

say that you have been in touch with your bank and your bank stated that if you were willing to sign an affidavit stating that this company violated the terms of your agreement and that for this reason the charge was unauthorized - they will simply refund your money and TAKE it from the company.

now, if you do this, you will need to have a new card issued and your old number will no longer be valid - so that the company that ripped you off won't be able to recharge you.

it's a hassle, but worth it if you want satisfaction.
