I know a girl that is having an abortion for the 3rd time now in a year. What are the long term effects of having it done to you 3 times in a year, if any?

I hate seeing girls do this. They are being careless and using abortion as some form of birth control, it's so wrong. Having an abortion is not very good for a woman's body. It increases the chances of breast cancer, cervical, ovarian, and liver cancer. You can suffer from uterine perforation or other uterus damage that can effect her chances of becoming pregnant later in life. It also increases the risk of placenta previa in later pregnancies (a life threatening condition for both the mother and her wanted pregnancy). She can have complications with labor on down the line. Also, there is a greater risk of handicapped newborns. The list goes on and on....
Not to mention the psychological effects she will most likely suffer on down the line. If she's young, she may not be effected by her decisions now, but when she's older and more mature, this may come back to haunt her. Abortion is significantly linked to behavioral changes such as promiscuity, smoking, drug abuse, depression and eating disorders which all contribute to increased risks of health problems.

Maybe you should try to talk to this girl and let her know that she isn't making good decisions and she needs to be more careful. If she's going to have sex she needs to use some type of birth control and/or protection. An abortion may be "fixing" her problem for now, but it will only cause more for her later.

Abortion is a horrible thing, you should have told her NOT to do it the first time!!!!! How would she like to be one of those three babies whonever got the chance to live all because of her?!!?! What if her mother decided to have an abortion? Well, she wouldn't be here, would she? Tell her to start using her brain!!!!! Just because the baby can't speak, don't speak for it! Abortion is a tragic and sad sin. Tell her to use her head. If she can't afford the child, adoption would be the choice, not abortion. And if she can't afford the child, and she knew it. Tell her to get some self-control!!! Don't do "it" if she can't suffer the conciquences! That's ridiculous!

It's really bad on her body but no matter what others think, I truly believe God created abortion for people like her that would bring a child into this world and prob think she could take care of it. My mother would have had an abortion if it had not JUST become legal and she wishes she had and so do I. I like life but no child should have to go through what I did.

Personally, this girl is using abortion as a means of birth control and someone should put a stop to it. I'm sure it is not good for her health besides. She could get an infection or become sterile - which probably would be a blessing. I'm sorry but if she won't get help with some kind of sex education, mandatory sterialization is what I would prescribe, but that won't ever happen.

Wow thats sick. Yes there are lots of effects.

There have been no attempts to study the effects of repeat abortion on women's future fertility.

Women's reproductive histories when being treated for gynecological problems such as Asherman's Syndrome, PID, and cervical incompetence, often reveal one or more past abortions.

A significant number of women who experience pregnancy loss have had multiple induced abortions.

Many women are not aware of the connection between repeat abortion and their future ability to have children.

There is a need for studies that focus directly on the connection between multiple abortions and pregnancy loss and that inform women of the risks of repeat abortion to their future health.

I s this girl so out of it that she doesn't know what causes pregnancy in the first place? She sounds like she really has mental problems and can't control herself when the sex times arise. She needs to get more sense and think of her body and the children that are lost and all the people that can't conceive and would give anything for a child.

I don't know about having so many, but I've heard that having one at all lowers the chance of being able to successfully have a baby later, like if/when you WANT to have one.

Unfortunately my friend had an abortion at an early age, the simply could NOT carry again when she was married and they were trying to have a baby... she miscarried numerous times.

I would imagine your friend will face this problem, among others...

anytime you have an abortion you risk not be able to conceive babies in the future. tell your friend to grow up if she can have sex then she should be adult enough to deal with the actions caused from it. also tell her that there is such a thing as birth control and she should try it

an abortion is a medical procedure and like all medical procedures carry risks, her tubes can be scarred etc, etc, etc. but honestly this young woman needs counseling abortion IS NOT a form of birth control and it sounds like she needs to talk to a professional.

I think she might have a problem getting pregnant again. But if all the abortions where preformed correctly, than she should be ok.

I would tell your friend that she needs to get on birth control.
