I have third pick in my fantasy league, and assuming LT and Steven Jackson get taken 1-2, who should I take?

whoever suggested taking a QB doesnt know anything about fantasy football. if LT and Jax are gone, go with LJ. i dont trust shaun alexander and frank gore isnt a secret anymore. everyone in the league is aware of what he can do now. so he wont sneak up on any team. LJ is essentially the chiefs entire offense now that green is gone. gonzo is not what he used to be, kennison is average, and bowe is a rookie. LJ would likely get 400+ touches again this year.

JJ, Without knowing your scoring system this is a tough one to answer. No QB should be taken that high in normal leagues. The points earned between the #1 QB and the #6 QB at the end of the season will not be that great while the difference between the #3 RB and #9 RB will be HUGE. By not going RB you will be stuck with possibly the 17th (10 team league) or 21st (12 team league) best RB as your #1 and you are then a lock not to make the playoffs. This assumes you use the normal scoring format that values rushing or receiving TD's(6 pts) more the thrown TD's (3 or 4).

So of the remaining RB's I'd take LJ. Simple reason, his coach will give him the ball 400 times AND they want to work him into the passing game even more. He does not have a lot of wear on him like some have said, as he just started the last 1 1/2 years. Even at Penn State he was just used the last 2 years. O-Line is still solid and old (stud but old) guard retired but they'll be fine there. The have a young QB and therefore will run even more. ***Of course, if he holds out you can't take him at 3***

Gore played injury free for the first time last year but he would be the next best choice. Followed by S. Alexander.

Then 6-8 picks should be (in any order) Addai, Parker, and Westbrook. Only after those 8 picks should Manning even be considered...

Hope that helps...

As people say,

Pick Larry Johnson or Shaun Alexander. If you can't pick those 2 take Frank Gore. Those 3, Steven Jackson, and LT are the top 5 RBs in the league, in my opinion of course. If I were you though, I'd pick Shaun Alexander.

Last Option is Joseph Addai. Even though he's kinda young. I'd put him in 6th best RB in the league

Gore or Addai. They could easily put up similar numbers to the aforementioned. I believe LJ is due for a letdown this season.

(if you pick a QB this early, most of the stud RB's will be gone by the time you pick again)

Larry Johnson without a doubt. do not take a quarterback early, running backs will get you more points. larry johnson is an absolute machine and will be the future of the chiefs organization for years to come.

larry johnson- he is a great rb on a team with no passing game
frank gore- had a breakout season last year, and looks to have another great season.
joseph addai- had over a thousand total yards and 7tds and didnt even start a game.

You have to go with Peyton Manning, if that's the case. The guy always puts up huge numbers and if he is still left I say go with him. If not go with Larry Johnson.
