Yes, because when people follow their heart, desires, dreams and are true to themselves it does more than fulfill their own lives.
Many such behaviors have brought happiness to others as well as the advancement of social, scientific, political and humanitarian causes and conditions.
Living to ones full potential benefits all mankind.

Absolutely a loss unless you have decided to become a traitor to your country...if my son did that I sure wouldn't support it and I know my hubby wouldn't either. We all aren't going to have the same goals but if being hateful, selfish, and mean spirited to those closest occurs while doing so....that isn't being true to yourself or others.
People can't lip service away "do unto others....". Oh, sure we hear lengthy spins and excuses being passed around but love can't be redefined and cheapened. People can't assume their way thru life without someone observing those that assume either. We all have a responsibility to love and be loved.
