People have to get there somehow. And also there are things called Designated Driver. And then there are people like me who don't like to drink, I like to go there and hang out with my friends and have a good time.

I seem to manage to go to bars and leave without being drunk. EVER. On the other hand, if you are too drunk to drive, at least you have a spot in the lot to sleep in the back seat. Those are handy.

Because our laws USE TO BE more reasonable. You'd be able to go to a pub or bar and have a few beers with your dinner or out with friends. They keep lowering the legal limit, and it's so bad now that just two beers is over the limit. Or one glass of wine, or one mixed drink. That's ridiculous. We keep making more and more laws that are just choking us all. I agree with some limits. I don't want someone trashed driving a car, but let's have some reasonable limits.

Because going to a bar does not mean everyone is going to get drunk. It is a matter of personal responsibility to either stay sober or appoint a designated driver for your group.

you can have a designated driver, you can go to the bar for food, or you can sit in the bar until you're not drunk anymore and then drive home.
also, if bars had no parking lots they would have no business because people have to drive to get there and no one wants to go to a bar where they have to park far away and walk

You can go to a bar and not get drunk, or only drink a little, or have a designated driver..

In Japan, having a designated driver who does not drink at all works. In America it probably won't. Given that, it is part of the great absurdity of life that we have so many contradictions between our practices and our laws. This one, however, can be lethal.

Why is the highway not high?
Why is the driveway not a place to drive?
Why is the parkway not a place to park?
Oh! These's are the plexing questions of our time! Who can answer them? Not me!

and also people like to have special occasion meal and you'll find one wont be drinking as they will be driving.
oh and you get people that will have a drink and get a taxi home and leave the car at the pub.
