Windows Xp has a built in security feature where it will shut down if a huge system error occurs.

Try a System Restore.

When you start up your computer keep hitting the F8 function key (top of your keyboard, usually above and between the 9 and 0 keys). Don't hold it down, keep tapping it.

You'll get a plain text screen with various options. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate to "Last Known Good Configuration" and hit Enter.

You'll get another screen asking which Operating System to use. If Windows XP isn't already highlighted, highlight it using the arrow keys and hit Enter again.

This should take care of the problem.

If it doesn't, you'll need to repair or reinstall Windows. I recommend you take it back to the place where you bought it and demand that they fix it, since repairing or reinstalling Windows is a bit complex and I can't explain the steps here.

"BSOD - Blue Screen of Death" it happens when you install new hardware or updated any drivers of the system. Try to restore to the original configuration or install a fresh copy of windows.
