yes and that only makes the hurt worse.
Be honest !
Say that you never really gave a damn to start with.
Brutal honesty works better for some people.
I would rather be angry with you than agonize over What I may have done wrong

yeah many, many, years ago, in the 60's
my 1st husband after I left him, and filed for an annulement, when he beat the living sh-t out of me, the first and last time. I hit him with 4 pots of boiling water, grabbed my baby, and ran like hell out of there. The next day I was at my attorney's filing papers. Then here comes his sorry A--, with that "baby I'm sorry crap, like I told him, " I know that now, I wish I had found it out 'before' I married your sorry a__
and I 'Never' spoke to him again.
People think they can treat a person any way they feel like, as long as they say "I'm Sorry"
I for one am not buy what they are selling, when I can use the toilet, sh-t and get it free

Of course - that's always the statement after someone has hurt you. And sometimes, they never did intend to however, I think if people paid attention to their actions and words, they would know if what they said or did was going to cause hurt. I have learned to think first - and be careful to speak. The power of the tongue is mighty and offensive and also murderous.

Yes. Sometimes they really didn't intend to, but most of the time they use that phrase as a tool to get out of a relationship they are no longer interested in, or to get out of a situation they feel they can not handle.

Yes, and that was usually preceded at some point in time by the phrase "I will never hurt you".

Yes, but it was for my own good. Now I love to be hurt! To eat a ton of raw linguini! To drink melted lava! To sleep in a board with nails! Thanks, daddy! I've learned my lesson! I will have lots of fun in Hell! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Yeah after they tied me up and put me in trunk and sent it rolling off a cliff. After I swam back to shore and hitched a ride back home, all my mom would say was "My Bad!"
