You would have to work a lot harder for the same respect. You could still do it though. If you look good enough to be in Playboy, chances are you fight for respect already.

There are those who have had quite a career after playboy. But most are going for celebrity type careers. Jenny McCarthy and quite a few others. Anna Nicole doesnt count as she was never anything but utter trash.

Not now a days.People are taking such things in their strides and don't give a damn as long as you deliver in what ever role you are playing. Of late, Playboy has acquired some class and a few of the articles are well researched and topical.

I actually suspect that being in Playboy would increase your celebrity factor.

Marilyn Monroe was the first centerfold in Playboy. She was taken pretty seriously.

My career wouldn't be harmed a bit if I was featured in Playboy. I'm due for retirement in 6 years anyway. My preacher might get upset, but it's MY life. he he

It depends on if it's found out and if people care. Politicians are the ones who end up in hot water with things that look fringy or are unaccepted by the masses. I think it matter what type of scientist you intend to become and whether or not you think it's worth the risk.

Anna Nicole Smith got some mileage out of Playboy.

I think for the scientist it would be okay too. Playboy is classier than Hustler mag or the others.
