technology has moved forward.

If your av program can't clean the virus then the virus is blocking the av program.

You may need a differnt Anit-Virus program, the second best progarm is Grisoft AGV, it is free you can download it from the net.

You need to start your computer in safe mode and then clean the computer and the USB device.

Good luck.......

One thing you can do is do like another answerer said, and get AVG, as it's correctly spelled, and use it to scan all drives on your computer. In doing this, it can probably find and erase any viruses that your computer has, along with the virus on your USB drive. Just plug it in to your computer after downloading, installing, and just before running, AVG. Another thing you can do if that doesn't work, is to get a program called Acronis, which is like NortonGhost, but better. With it you can get your personal stuff off the drive if you need to, and leave things you don't want.

Other than that, you can try to reformat the drive using a Mac if it's compatible. You can use the drive's own software to do it, unless that's what's infected with a virus. To do this, use your own Mac, or else find someone who does, and open up the drive's software folder. Click on the Mac folder, and in there should be the program installed to format your drive. Besides that, what you can do is take it somewhere like a place I know locally where I am called Data Doctors, I think they are nationwide, but I am not sure. They can probably do it for you, and if they can't, then I'm sorry, but you need a new drive. I hope this helps!!

Why not just reformat it and see what happens next?

Microcenter has been selling 2G flash disks for $15 so it is not even the end of the world if you just toss it if it is not fixable.
