try to avoid c-section at all cost........ i just had one and trust me it hurts, its would be better to just go threw labor and get it over with, something most women dont tell you is they take the spinal out of you as soon as delivery is done, then they have to clean you out, they do this my putting the palm of ther hand over your cut and pressing down to clean out your uterus, you have lil or no pain med at this time and by the third time your spinal has gone and it hurts like HELL they do this about every hour for about 6 hours, i was in labor for 12 hours and that hurt worse than any contraction i had, also the next day when you have to get up, it doesnt madder how much med you have it HURTS it took me 3 weeks to be able to walk upright again, and if you are planning on breastfeeding its not an easy thing with your belly cut open and your baby kicking you in it, im not tryin to scare you i just dont want you to be surprised with the outcome of a c-section like i was
BUT MY BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL IS WORTH IT ALL!!!

Depends on if you've had a C section before. IF you haven't, then have the baby naturally (with drugs of course). While the C-section is easier and hurts less intially, it does have drawbacks. For one, it raises your risks of having complications with having a baby naturally in the future.
For two, the docs have to cut your muscles deep inside up real high to get to the baby. Of course, they sew them back up again, but the muscles are weaker and can't support a lot of stress in the future. If you get pregnant again, you'll most likely rip and tear, which will make being pregnant very uncomfortable and make you have to have another surgery sometime in the near future after delivery, because then you will have a lovely huge hernia dead center of your belly (been there, dealing with that now). It also takes longer to heal from a C-section, even if the wound is in a less painful place than an episiotomy. The Epi heals faster and causes less damage.
However, if you have had a C-section before, then have another. The same risks apply, but to have a baby naturally after a Csection is risky and your doc should be telling you what those dangers are. I think one of them is an increased risk of hemorraging during delivery. Bad stuff.
It's your choice, but if you haven't had one Csection, going natural would be best for your health and has benefits for the baby.
Good luck.

I have had 4 births all vaginally. I have never experienced a c-section and I say I would neve want to voluntarily be cut open if there was another option. But then everyone I know that have had a c-section say they would rather have a c-section than vaginally. But I do know seeing them afterwards they were very much in pain and on pain meds. I have had one of my tubes removed by laproscopy and those small cuts they made to perform the procedure I was down in pain for at least 3 weeks 2 of which I needed help to go to the bathroom. I could not bend, if i was in the car and we hit a bump I hollered so after that experience I dont think c-section would be for me. I just think you can enjoy your baby more if you dont have to worry about hurting yourself in the process. But I also feel as though one of the joys of having a baby is the delievery as well as having a vaginal birth helps sqeeuze the fluids out of the baby's lungs to help with the babys first breath and breathing. So for me I would say Vaginal.

I have had 2 c-sections then I had a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). I would definitely choose the vaginal birth. The recovery time is a lot quicker and most experience less problems with breast feeding, infections, etc. I used no drugs. I had a homebirth. I was an awesome experience. I know it's not for everyone but still an option to consider. I did tear and had to have 10 stitches. The tear was a lot less painful than the c-section incision. I know that sounds crazy but it was less painful. It also healed quicker. With a c-section you are stuck in bed for the rest of the day. You are still numb. I hope this information helps you to make the best decision for you and your family. Congrats on the little one!

Hi
I had my first C-Section, because it was an emergency..But at the time I had I c-section, doctors believed because of 1 c-section..any addition pregnancies would have to be c-sections as well..So I had 3 C-sections..
If I had a choice to do it all over again, and I was able to have a regular birth..I would definitely choose regular deliveries!
If you decide on a C-Section..Be prepared for a great deal of pain for the next 2-3 weeks..
Well whatever you decide to do.. Congratulations & Good Luck!

well, i have has 2 c-sections ( one was an emergency & the second was planned) and i don't have "UGLY" scars...yes you can see it, but the scar is below your panty line and is very thin and mine is only about 4 in. long now (1yr later)
if you do opt for a c-section then be prepared for the pain afterward...they make you get up and walk at the hopsital soon after surgery.....you can't lift over 10 pounds for the first week or 2, and you will be taking pain meds...so you'll have to have someone with you at home for at least the for the first week so you'll be able to take care of yourself and take the meds when you need them.
however, if you can have a natural birth...do it....i was so disappointed that i couldn't see ( i wanted to watch on the overhead mirror).. my sons come into this world,
i wish you well and YOU make the choice that's best for you...also talk to your doctor about the different things you'll go through with either one of them
again...GOOD LUCK

A normal delivery, no question.
C-sections are major abdominal surgery. They take SO much longer to recover from and cause so much more pain. I understand that people have them for medical reasons but I would never pick a c-section if a normal delivery is still an option.

I am only 15 weeks & 2 days and I have already decided that I am going to have a normal delivery(as long as nothing goes wrong) and I am going to get an epidural.

I would definitley have a normal delivery, at least the pain is over when the baby is born. A c-section, the pain begins after the baby is born, and I don't want to be in pain and taking care of a baby.

I don't believe c-section are give to you unless you could not normal have a normal delivery. Now days the doctor can shot a needle in your back cause a easy delivery. Ifyou are thinking about doing this then go to the doctors and ask them questions.
I had a c-section.
