I'm not a snob and I don't have money to burn but I feel stores like JcPenney's and such have a better quality of clothing. Yes it brand names and you may pay alot but I feel it outstands washing and constant wear. Also finding clothes that fit my children properly is something I can seem to only find in higher priced stores. My 11 year old wears 12-14 pants and the length is always too short in ordinary stores because she is so very tall. My other two kids are little peanuts. I have to get the adjustable band inside for it to fit properly. I don't buy higher priced clothes to make my children fit in. My sister feels the same way and she sends all my niece's clothes to her. They've been worn so many times and they still look brand new. Just wondering who else shares my view?

Definitely. The jeans that buy for my husband and myself at JCPenney (always on sale) last longer and wear better than the ones that I buy at Walmart, especially Levi's. The Levi's that are sold at Walmart are really poor quality and a lighter weight denim than the ones that are sold at other stores. I'd rather spend $30 on a pair of jeans that will last a year or more than $17 for a pair of jeans that I'm lucky to get 6 months out of. I even have a pair of Victoria's Secret jeans that I've had for 5 years - and I paid $45 for them (the most I've ever paid for a pair of jeans.)

You're no snob. To a certain extent the more you pay the more you get. I don't think there is too much difference in the quality of my $150 purse and a $500 purse, but there is definitely a difference between a $5 shirt and a $45 shirt! The fabrics of those clothes are thinner (less threads per inch) and are sewn with weaker threads under more lenient quality control standards. I may, MAY, get a year out of something like that. A kid may get a few months. The quality (not HIGH quality, just quality) clothes I buy last, I still have and wear pieces from the 80's and 90's! (thanks, fashion world, for bring it all back around and around and around)

I definitely agree with you...it is not about whether or not you are a snob, it's about the quality and the guarantee there is behind the clothing. It is usually the case that if you go to a store with brand names they allow returns or exchanges in case you are not happy or the clothes rips. I also think that the fit is superior to the non-brand names. I think it is because they have more qualified designers. Brand names really stand by their quality because they have a lot to lose, whereas those who are just beginning or do not care for their name do not. It is also wise to shop when they have sales and you still end up with good quality clothes at a good price :D

i think there is a difference to a point.
some stores use cheaper quality fabrics for clothing.
i would say if you find something that fits properly stick with it.
i always had that prob - finding jeans that fit my big butt lol
i love the arizona brand from pennies
the shirts fit sooo well and the jeans are perfect!
stick with it!
i think the clothing from walmart is ok for kids but the adolescent and up clothing tends to get cheapier in my opinion

well, i've always thought that Abercrombie and fitch was overpriced but compared to jcpenny, the material is alot better, because it doesn't tear and it's thick and well made .. Hollister not so much .. If you're going to dress your child for teen years, i think it's good to buy a few things there to mix with other clothes because A&F will last longer .. & if there prices are too expensive, try clearance(:

Personally I don't care for Wal*Mart clothing, and there tee-shirts aren't that good in style.

There tee-shirt sizes are messed up. I wear a large tee-shirt size, and once brought a tee-shirt from them. The shirt on me, felt like a medium. I experience this once before. You have to buy a tee-shirt, two sizes bigger then your size to fit you perfect. There tee-shirt designs are
stupid-looking to where it's redicules.

Although the Wal*Mart by me had bottoned-down shirts, that were descent-looking about 2 months ago. I brought one of them, and it looks neat on me. I only buy socks and underwear at Wal*Mart. I buy other clothes at stores like Boscovs, Macy's, JcPenny, and Sears.

Yes if you go clothes shopping in a department store, you will spend more money then in Wal*Mart or in KMart. Department stores have more clothing companies and more qualities. They have more style brands of clothing then Wal*Mart and KMart have. You will see more options to buying clothes in a department store, then in Wal*Mart and KMart.

I hope I helped.
