Well I own 5 cats and we buy them dry cat food. We also have a dog and we buy him dry dog food. We have noticed that when we look in our dog food bucket at the end of a month so to say it is all there! We have seen our dog eating our dry cat food!! I think he prefers it though because don't get me wrong he is a big dog but he is very old and i believe likes eating smaller food like cat food! Although I have yet to see any of my cats eating the dry dog food! But yes dogs will eat cat food!

yes but they really should have their own food. If your cat is eating dog food you may want to incorporate some more meaty alternatives for your cat. If a dog is eating the cat food food try giving the dog some salmon or foods that have Omega3 in them daily.
You can always just feed and separate the two while eating also.

cat food is not good for dogs and i assume its the same vice versa. i dont think it will do anything to them but maybe give them an upset stomach.

Yes they can but cat food is generaly much more nutrtious than dog food. I don't know why but it's definately the case.
Vets will often advise feeding cat food to dogs for the above reason.

I have two pugs and they are always eating the cat food and my cat sometimes eats their food not very often, but the dogs man they go crazy for that cat food.

of course they CAN and DO. but its bad for them. i actually JUST read an article on how eating dog food can lead to cats vision problems. see, the food are made with nutrients that each animal needs - and if they eat each others food they arent getting good nutrition and their health will suffer as a result :o(

Yeah, it might make the cat a little constipated but it's totally safe, we had a litter of puppies and found it easier and cheaper to feed the puppies and the cat both puppy chow... I never got any complaints from either side :o)

Yeah but it makes cats cry if they eat dog food, and if dogs eat cat food they shrink really small apart from their heads and eventually they cant balance and die.

Yes, they can. Our barn cats have always ate dog food. My sisters dog eats her cats food all the time and it hasn't hurt her.

A dog will eat practically anything you put in its dish. Cats seem to be more picky to me but if they are hungry - they will eat just about anything as well
