or the new Victoria Beckham? I am amused by how much coverage this character gets on CNN and other respectable channels...prime time is wasted on this kiddie stuff instead of on MATURE news -about the war, money, tragedies worl-wide..Welcome to the Harry Potter kiddie world! Bleah:(

not saying the public doesn't need relief, fun, entertainment (hey that's why there are 100 cable channels)...just seems like the mass-media finds a subject to FIXATE on and they go ooooon and ooooon with it, ignoring everything else. I wonder WHY Harry Potter..is it really that much better than other books...

OMG, reading some of your answers ..it's like you wonder HOW DID LIFE GO ON on Earth, before Harry Potter? I mean..people must have not had any imagination..nothing before poor HP -that's what you sound like! This character is like the Beatles now:) Hey, nobody's fault you people needed HP to become more imaginative..

Since when has Victoria Beckham or Paris Hilton been new? They are old and I still don't know why the media shines on them. As far as Harry Potter, You shouldn't be so disconcerting. Harry is a book, he is knowledge, and since when has kids been so excited to read a book or adults reading Harry to their children? Even though it is made up stories that will never be true, I believe Harry is important. This book sparks imagination and where would we be if people didn't have imagination? There would be no such things as a car, electricity, or even space travel. Things that we take for advantage. No one would have thought because they didn't have imagination. So next time you go off on a rambling tangent....Think of the benefits first!

If there was nothing but news ,news then life would really bad, but because life has those interesting out side of war, money and news which make life worth living. As for your question-No! Not unless Harry Potter comes to reality TV.
Harry Potter is a book, movie that is interesting
Paris Hilton is a mad woman who needs major help.
These two do not match and to put them together make a dumb and stupid question
hehe!
To add to this thing.
We have wonderful imagination that we keep as children. We have other books that we like read. Plus on top of this we do have regular lives ,we work,we play and we take care of other things. So don't tell us that we do not have any imagination at all before Harry Potter.

Harry Potter is not kiddie stuff at all. There is plenty of war and tragedies involved. It parallels life quite well actually.
Note - If you have to wonder if they are better than you have obviously never read them. Please read before condescending. Plus doesn't CNN cover sports also? Sports is the stupidest thing on earth... Also with all the electronics today it's great that all these people are interested in READING.

I'd say the new Paris Hilton, but only for the constant media coverage. I think students at Hogwarts know well enough to wear some under-britches.

Yeah cause the war is defiantly mature and everything. How can you relate a story book character to Paris Hilton? There's absolutely no similarities.

I think the war coverage is getting old. Worldwide tragedies are depressing. Take these questions to the Arts and Humanities...

The media broadcasts what the public want to see, that is how they make their money. They don't care whether it is good or bad, all that matters is that it brings in the big money.
