I know I hate it when a wack-job extreme right-winger disgraces our party . And I'd like to know in detail how it makes you feel when one of the left's wack-jobs spews stupidity .

I'd also like to point-out that none of the Republican candidates are far right-wingers . In fact they all have a little baggage to carry . So we won't be nominating any far righties cause they aren't any to even choose from . But alas , the Democratic Party does have a candidate or two who pander to the far-left. . . . And I'd like to know how that makes you feel as well .
Thank you .

There are only two ways to deal with ignorance... educate or ignore. I choose to ignore them.

As far as your worries about wackos in the race right now. The strategy that is used to get elected is this.

Fringe for the Primary, Moderates for the election.

In other words, you will see the language tone down after the primaries when people start trying to pull the moderate voters.

Yes, Democrats and Republicans have their extreme ideologues, and they all embarrass me that we both call ourselves Americans.

However, I also try take the time to hear what they have to say. A lot of "far left" or "far right" talk can be viewed as hyperbole, considering an extreme position to emphasize a point. Read "1984"; I don't know if Orwell really believed that the world could end up that like that, but he got his point across anyway by taking an extreme position.

At times, it just makes me want to hand extremists on both sides a lollipop and put them on time-out; their rhetoric convinces few and entertains fewer.

But it also draws attention to a particular topic and incites a debate that otherwise might not be there.

I suppose that in the political world, if you have no enemies, then you're not trying hard enough.

The Libs far lefties are Kucinich and Gravel. When I hear them talk, I think they’re approaching everything with an ideology. It makes me cringe when anyone approaches everything from the same ideology. That’s why a lot of the radicals on either side have a tough time getting elected. Often their ideology is half way correct and half way flawed when held up to real life. Half is just not good enough.

There is a certain cringeworthiness to the farthest out there.
However, pandering to the extremes of either party is a well worn way to win. Extremists tend to be motivated to vote far out of proportion to their percentage in the party. Most candidates of either party do things they wouldn't think of in a local election. Like McCain going to Falwell when its well known they can't abide each other...until election time.

I really do think that political broadcast media does little to serve the public well, and, it is a slippery slope of the distillation of misleading information that is insulting to me. Encouraging ideas in an open unemcumbered manner seems almost lost in our era from a cascade of cheap virulent talk, the right, the left, suffer bacause of it. Long live print media, books, and truth!

I suppose both fringe democrats and republicans must tow their party line, never say anything against the status quo and never have a dissenting voice. Sounds a bit like communism to me. No wonder why everyone likes moderate candidates.

Thankyou. I have beent asking questions on why they do it, but all i got is nonsense. I feel like these kind of people are turning moderate conservatise, people who actually want to hear want the other side has to say, into maniacs. It is also very offending to be called "commy, troophater, america hater." I am almost driven to retort "ya well your a nazi conservative" when they start spewing hate, but somehow manage to control myself and not sink to their level.

P.S.PNAC Penololpe looks a prostitute lol just though id point it out

I disagree that you don't have any far righties...the fact is, you don't have any CONSERVATIVES, that is to say, your party is still more concerned with SOCIAL conservatism, than they are with fiscal conservatism. The SCOTUS has decidedly been swayed to the far right (it was always conservative...) We vary in our definitions of far right. And you would have to define 'far left nonsense' for me to answer. I assume we vary greatly in our definitions of that as well...
