The dates on notes is not the date it was printed, but the date of the original design, or when a new signature came about. The note was printed up to the late 1950's. In grade You have a United States Note that is why the seal is Red. It sells for $10 in grade very fine. Your bill sounds like it is lower than that grade so would sell for less. Dealers also pay less. It always amazes me that people working in banks have no idea of all the different coins and currency this country made from 1793 to 2007. They should for all are still legal tender. Most of the older stuff is worth much more as a collectors item. Hold on to it for the only place the value can go is up.

If it not damaged or creased it will go for 6 to 7 dollars . Crisp uncirculated will bring more . It all depends on color ,margins ,cut and ink quality .
