I know quite a few of them and they're liberals. Does that make them wiser? NO.
They have job security = TENOR
They basically live off of the government trough and unless they practically murder someone, are guaranteed jobs and a lifetime of security.
Many of them get government grants.
Thankfully, most of us are born with minds of our own and manage to grow up, once we get into the 'real' world. :)

No, education may make you book smart, but not necessarily smarter than someone without a college education. .
Common sense is lacking in the majority of the college professors that I have met/seen . . . to me, this makes you more ignorant and less educated . . . even less open minded. They seem to shut themselves out from opinions that differ from their own.
Your question in itself is an example of this. you are relating education to being liberal and wiser. Being Liberal doesn't mean wiser though.

Education does not make you wiser. Life experience makes you wiser. Most university professors do not have extensive real life (outside of the university) experience.

Rove we've been through this and you keep getting the same answer - - - most professors of things that are real and useful AREN'T liberals. A Ph.D. in sociology is not wiser or more educated than a CPA.

There is a difference between book smart and street smarts. Most professors and students have learned most things in life from books instead of life experience. University life is much different from the way the actual world works. I've met a lot more stupid people in college than I ever did in the working world.

Education can allow people to make better use of their brains, so I assume that people could become wiser through being more educated. Also, it is fact that there is a statistical relationship between being a scientific expert and being an atheist, and another relationship between intelligence and libertarian views. It seems that dumber people are more likely to be religious, and more likely to support government control of people.

I guess you have talked to most University professors, so have you talked to most Rocket Scientists, because they are conservatives. I guess I have a tendency to believe the rocket guys, they are not trying to impress a bunch of 18-24 year olds.

Books don't make you smart. They give you knowledge to use when you get to the real world. Ones true education only comes through living life.

Yes and no.
Liberals hide out in universities because they can't cut it in the private sector.
Anyone can 'CONTINUE' college and become a professor. Most choose to get a real job.
