No restrictions as far as the law is concerned, but why would you want to do this? A motorcycle is a vehicle designed to be fast, powerful and nimble. It's not a road tractor. Anything that goes wrong while you have a trailer hooked to the A**end of your bike will become that much worse because it's there. 70% of a bike's braking is done with the front wheel brake. When you brake, the back end becomes light, due to weight transfer, then there's the trailer trying to push the back end out from under you. Add a little sand, a little water, or a spot or two of oil and some gravity...you lose! If you need a trailer to take along all your sh**, then you're not packing light enough. Best get an RV and forget about biking...K ;o)

There is no licence restriction on attaching a trailer to a motorcycle.
As no restriction is mentioned, it is legal with any class of licence, however, if you are an inexperienced rider I would very, very, strongly recommend against doing this..
A trailer is not always predictable in its actions on a car, and this is a much greater concern on a bike as it is not as stable on the road as a vehicle with four wheels.
For instance a strong gust of wind from the side can blow a trailer off track more than it would the vehicle hauling it. On a car this can cause a driver a few moments of concern to correct the action, and it has been known to cause loss of control to cars and trucks, but the same action on the back wheel of a bike could be VERY dangerous and pull the bike off its own track and into another lane and/or flip the bike.
This may seem like an exaggeration, and the chance of such an occurrence may not be great, but novice riders already have their hands full and do not need this.
If what I just described should happen to a novice/ inexperienced rider, the negative result above is almost guaranteed.
Unless you are a well-experienced rider, and have a large bike, preferably a heavy one, stay away from any type of trailer.

I wouldn't think so. Although I am not familiar with Canadian law. The link below shows you how to build one and give tips about towing one. I would suggest you should be an experienced rider though.

I don't see why it would be an issue. As long as the trailer is upto road standards.. It shouldn't matter. I can tow a plane, regardless if I know how to fly or not.
