Stop ALL firewalls, spyware and AV programs and go surfing on the Net. It'll take care of itself. Otherwise just go and delete a lot of registry or WIN32 folder files and sit back and let chaos unfold.

there is lot of reasons may bee u have one of them
1. Hardware Problem
i- Hard disk problem
ii- Ram Problem
iii- Other Hardware Conflicts
2. Not Proper shutdown.
3. Virus , Worms , Trojans , Spyware , Adware etc
4. illeagle copy of Microsft Windows XP

Fork bomb... mess with the audit system if CAF is on... there are thousands of ways to crash any computer.

If you also want to make it recoverable...back up your registry, then go into regedit and futz with registry entries, then reboot. Your computer will surely be crashed...like, REALLY CRASHED!
