You did not specify what type of residence you reside in.Are you in an apartment, house or what? The landlord should be concerned about damage to house.Apartments usually spray monthly for pests. If you see snail slime then that is probably one problem.Roaches in an infestation will leave small black looking spots.Either way I would say you need to have it sprayed.Their are solutions for a landlord that does not fullfill his or her responsibilitys as a landlord. The BBB is one way and again who are you dealing with,a buisiness or a single owner?Apartment dwellers have recoarse thru renters association. They are in the phone book.Call the landlords bluff and tell him or her that you will call one of these places and I bet they will take care of problem.Hope the best for you!

Call a professional carpet cleaner and have them assess the carpet for you. From the sounds of it you need it cleaned anyways and it is very possible that you have earwigs or other pests residing beneath the padding

I don't know of any insect that could move the carpet up.........how about a mouse.I think it would rather be out in the open..I would pull the carpet up a little in that area and see what could be under there.....

You probably should call an exterminater first, then a carpet cleaner.
