he may be over doing it but look at the other side....he could be a dad that didn't give a sh1t what you did and you would not like that either (you might think you would but you really wouldn't) it is hard to find the perfect middle between over protecting and not caring.....but I think I would rather have them be on the over protecting side then on the other.....cut him some slack he cares about you.....there are a lot of dads that don't care about their kids....
actually you should kiss him and be glad that he cares about you.....and what you think of as over protecting now you may look back and see that it was from a younger prospective.....
YOU GET A STAR because you made me give such a long answer

No. It is not okay to ever put your hands on your parents. The Bible teaches that you honor your father and mother that your days may be long in the land. I believe this wholeheartedly.
Take the time to talk with your father. Find out why he is so over protective - then go about working with him so he can learn to trust you - that's what it is about - trust and love.

hmmmmmm...not that it isn't okay... but... you'd get more trouble... he'd think you were going rebellious or something like that and probably be even more overprotective, because that kind of things always happens because of "bad people who hang around with you and give you bad ideas"
maybe you should have a long talk with him and explain your point of view...and...if that doesn't work...try to get your mom on your side...
i have more or less the same problem...i'm almost 16 and got out at night 2 times and went to one concert...while my friends hang around whenever they want till 3 am since 13...

Being 2 peoples father myself, I don't really believe there is such a thing as being "over-protective".
