Every time someone asks a question about pulling out of Iraq, half the people have to say "we still have bases in Germany and Korea, so we are never really pulling out". Cmon, give me a break, 1 or 2 bases is not the same as a several hundred thousound troops. When someone says "bring the troops home" they mean bring the large majority of them home.

Also, for everyone who says we should stay for 10 plus years, it's never gonna happen. Your doing the same thing democrats do when they try to put a timetable for the troops; trying to make a point by uselessly suggesting something that will never happen.

Germany and Korea are supposedly key strategical positions in Europe and Asia, my dad served during the Korean War and it wasn't a religious civil war, it was an internal power struggle, HUGE difference between that and a 3 sided holy civil war. Get our people home now!

The main difference between Germany & Korea vs Iraq is that Iraq is in the middle of a freaking civil war and our troops are being slaughtered! Get them out NOW! OUr troops being there is causing more instability than anything else. The terror groups are actually using our guys and gals as reasons for them to be there, pull our people out & take away the terror gfroups argument for being there and I guarentee you the Iraqis will drive them out by themselves!

We have 30,000 + Troops in Korea...do you know how many American soldiers have been killed in Korea since the Armistice was signed? Around 15k...Korea is a Civil War...so why not pull out of a country as Anti-American as Korea is? There are probably close to 100k Soilders in Europe...How many do you think are in Bosnia? 10k +...I think we should pull our Troops back from other countries now...then worry about Iraq next...

No. the islamists and jihadists do not want any foreign soldier on "islamic" land, so even if we evacuated 100% of the troops from Iraq, they would ***** about the troops in Saudi, Qatar, etc.

And even if we withdrew 100% of the troops from the ME, they would ***** about the troops in the Phillipines, Malaysia, etc.

And even if we withdrew 100% of the troops from all countries in the entire world - they would redefine "soldiers" to mean civilian contractors for the military, diplomats, salespeople who work in ME countries for companies that do business with the military, etc.

Because the islamists and jihadists want to impose their vision of islam all over the world, and they are getting NO resistance from within islam itself.

I think you are wrong on all counts. There are about 150 thousand troops in Iraq. There are about the same number in Germany, Korea, Okinawa combined. We should remove the troops from those three countries. They are not needed. We can then increase the force in Iraq to about 300 thousand.

Here's a radical idea - how about we stay until Iraq is stable?
