Kevin,
It is the best policy
here is an example
a person loses their wallet and or purse.
I come across one
but would I take the money and run?
No.
I would try to return it to the person
even if I turn it in at the lost and found
I would have a good feeling knowing I did the right thing
but more importantly I am worried about the person who
loses it. I would wait until the person gets it back
let them pay if they so desire.

"Do these pants make my butt look big?" It obviously depends on the question and who is asking it. Honesty is the best policy in most parts of life, not in all however. Learning when and how to avoid the honest answer when needed is a sign of maturity.

not always. Work in a school. If every time a kid hands you a drawing and is very proud of it, you don't tell him it's garbage. You smile, say it's beautiful and toss it in the "to be filled" tray. You don't want to hurt those egos.

everyone says that it is. However, in reality, you if tell someone something that they don't want to hear, you'll wish you lied in the first place.
