I'm thinking of starting a business and, amongst other things I'm going to have to buy large quantities of linen. I'm completely wet behind the ears about this sort of thing as I mainly deal in metals. How do I go about finding wholesalers? Can you give me any other tips I might need to know?

Many folk seem unaware of the fact that UK has thousands of factory shops. These shops stock goods directly from factories at factory gate prices. You can find these on the Internet.

Check out ` Linen wholesalers` in the yellow pages. Check out and write to manufactures of linen, the factories, etc. Look for them nationally, not just in your home town. Once you have a supplier and have been with them a while, you should negotiate new deals on price structures, i.e. discounts for quantity purchases and cash purchases.also a `cash and carry` price to save the supplier on delivery expenses. A factory would rather make a small and regular profit than none at all. Always pay your bills as soon as you are able, if you default, you could get a bad reputation and lose your living.
