Yea, he will break it. He's only two HBP away. There was a good article on espn.com about the subject that I have linked to. Biggio is a lock for the HOF, whether it is first or second ballot. I just hope he doesn't try to hang on too long. The Astro's are starting to give Burke more playing time at 2nd, so I see the great career of Biggio coming to an end very soon...

Yes, he will break the HBP record and it'll most likely happen at home like his 3,000 hits did. HBP is something I wouldn't want to be remembered for but it's a record. I consider Biggio to be one of the best and most underrated players to ever play the game. He's a HOFer but not on 1st ballot. Possibly on 2nd ballot. Too many worth putting in on 1st ballot ahead of him.

If he breaks it....

He is almost automatic in the Hall of Fame as a 1st year candidate inductee..

He would break it... he'll find someway to get the last 10-20 HBP in the later half of the season...

Anything is possible. He only needs to be hit by the pitch what 6 more to break it, but how often is he normally hit by a pitch? And honestly how much longer is he going to be playing? There is all that to consider. So after thinking about it, I don't think so?

I sure hope so. To come that close to a record and fall short would be somewhat disappointing.

Get out there and take one for the team, Bidge. And another. And another!

I wonder if any HOFer ended his career on the DL?
Puckett, I suppose.

I thought he broke it last year. But I could be wrong. I know he broke Don Bayler's record. I thought Baylor was the all time leader of being hit by pitches untill Biggo broke it last year.

A very dubious record to hold and I believe it will be his before the end of this season.
