Forget the King Ranch. It is a five hour drive.

Try the George Ranch in Richmond. It is less than a half hour drive from Downtown.

Look up King Ranch. I think it's only a couple of hours from Houston, and it's the largest working ranch in Texas I think.

George Ranch in Fort Bend county.
It is a historic ranch and is very interactive and set up for visitors.

You can also try the O.I.L. Ranch. (It is not about Oil. It is the initials of the original owner of the ranch.) They are about 30 miles northwest of Houston on 290. You can find their info at
