My friend said, in high school he had a bestfriend that was gay and when his parents found out he left and never was seen again. Now for a mintue it sounded normal but when he said he left shortly after to, too go to the army I was stunned. Could he be gay?

Off course he could be gay, but it depends on whether or not that matters to you or not. Do you intend on having this person as a friend, and are therefore concerned about his sexuality? If so the best thing to do is confront him when you need too, ask him if that's why he left. If your wrong just say sorry and let the world move on. If he says yes, well then that's up to your own personal prejudices, and you can then still move on with your life. Losing a friend can be very upsetting, but you only usually lose a friend if you push then away.

Sure. Being Gay is one of those things that can sit around in the back of someone's mind for years and then poof. Something happens and they give in and go "out of the closet."
He could also be straight. Guys tend to be homophobes so if he had a good friend who was gay, he has at least had gay thoughts. A straight guy who is young will run from a gay relationship.

Of course. This is very possible. Especially if the straight guy deals with his homophobia by talking to the friend about it. IMost gay guys that are mature and aware know not to hit on a straight guy.
I had a gay friend who was my best male friend ever. For 12 years. Then he died. I wish I could find someone as trustworthy and good to the core as this guy was. I really miss him sometimes. He was like a little big brother to me.

Sure you can... Could you have a best friend be a girl and not want to sleep with her (Unless your a horn dog) You don't become gay just because your friend is gay??? That's like saying if you hang out with a black person you wil change color... silly. Everyone has their own personality and lifestyle no matter who the hang out with.

Yes I believe that 2 men can be friends one be gay and the other straight. I know this because I have friends that are friends with gay people and he is straight. however with this situation it is possible that he is....it could go either way.

my best friend through high school is gay. I didn't know it then, but he did. Was never a problem. I'm not gay! I love the beautiful female body!

If you are female and have a male best friend, does that make you male??
I suppose anything is possible, but just because a guy has a best friend who's gay doesn't mean he is. I think you read too much into things.
